Last week I was in Williamsburg for a wedding celebration, and on the way there I passed by Fornino. I haven’t been to Fornino since I did my L Train Pizza Roundup, but I remember loving their margherita. On the way back from the reception I popped into Fornino for a refresher, but I decided to to order the eggplant and ricotta-topped Melanzane. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the pizza — it was completely under-seasoned. Even the crust, which looked perfectly charred, had no flavor at all. When it comes to Brooklyn pizza, I’ll stick with Roberta’s.
