Donny is friends with Chef Nate Smith, and Donny had been pushing for us to visit Smith’s new restaurant Allswell is Williamsburg. We’ve been there twice now, once with our friends from We Heart NY and once after the SE:NY meetup. My vegetarian meals at Allswell are made up of small plates (the large entrees tend to be meat-heavy), including the sweet potato agnolotti you see above. Even better was the broccoli di cicco, tossed with cheese, shisito peppers, and almonds. Best of all were the fried Brussels sprouts topped with honey — an unlikely but incredible combination. The prices are a little high, but the food is often good enough to justify it.
