Lunch At Allswell

It’s hard for me to believe, but Brooklyn Vegetarian is two years old! Thank you to everyone has been reading it — I’m sure there are at least a few of you out there.

While I was in Williamsburg for the Food Book Fair I took a lunch break between events. For my lunch I selected Allswell — I’ve been there several times for dinner, but I’d never been for lunch. I ended up getting the flatbread with kale, ramps, and a fried egg. They must make the flatbread to order — it took longer than I expected to come out, but the warm, roughly-shaped bread was worth the wait. I only wish the egg yolk had been runnier, so I could have used the bread to sop it up.

  1. That looks delicious! I live in Park Slope, but I’ll have to head over to Williamsburg to try that place.
